We invite you,

To submit papers for the THIRD International Conference on Teaching Skills Exchange – ITSE, which will take place on April 10 and 11, 2026, Šibenik.

The aim of the ITSE conference is to exchange innovations and examples of best practices in education, enhance teaching skills, promote interdisciplinary approaches, create and strengthen a network of collaborators, and advocate for active learning.

We aim to assess existing teaching skills, discuss their effectiveness, and explore the skills needed for current and future educational challenges.

By submitting your paper by March 1, 2026, you can enrich the conference program.

Authenticity in Teaching

Topics of interest

Contributions may address, but are not limited to, the following themes:

      • Teacher authenticity, identity, and reflective practice
      • Aligning personal values with pedagogical decisions
      • Vulnerability, empathy, and trust in teaching and learning
      • Authentic teacher–student relationships and inclusive classrooms
      • Real-world, inquiry-based, and experiential learning
      • Critical thinking and meaning-making in authentic contexts
      • Student voice, agency, and ownership of learning
      • Authentic assessment and meaningful feedback
      • Bridging personal and professional roles in teaching
      • Teacher wellbeing, ethics, and sustainability
      • Authenticity as a developing practice in teacher education

SUBMISSIONS

Step 1: Develop Your Sincere Contribution

Prepare a Sincere contribution (Summaries / Short Talks, Innovative, New Discoveries, Experimental, Research).
Submissions should present innovative practices, methods, ideas, experimental approaches, or research outlines related to the conference theme.
Each contribution will be delivered as a 10 – minute presentation, followed by discussion and audience questions.
Applicants are required to prepare a concise abstract clearly outlining the purpose, relevance, and key insights of their work.

Step 2: Submit Your Abstract

Submit your abstract through the conference submission system by the announced deadline.
The abstract should clearly describe the focus of the contribution, its connection to authenticity in teaching, and its innovative, experimental, or research-based nature.
All submissions will undergo a review process.

Step 3: Present After Acceptance

Upon acceptance, authors will be invited to present their 10-minute Sincere talk at the conference.
Presentations should be engaging, focused, and designed to stimulate reflection, dialogue, and exchange with participants.

Programme Structure

The ITSE 2026 conference is organised into three interconnected parts, designed to encourage dialogue, reflection, and the exchange of  ideas.

Friday – Opening Panel (Late Afternoon)

The conference begins on Friday afternoon with an opening panel discussion. The plenary sessions explore how assessment can promote meaningful learning, critical thinking, and student engagement., open key questions, and set the tone for the conference.

Saturday Morning – Plenary Lectures

This three-part structure supports a balanced programme that combines reflection, expert insight, and active participant engagement.

Saturday morning is dedicated to plenary lectures by invited speakers. These keynote sessions offer theoretical insights, research perspectives, and inspiring examples of authentic teaching practices, providing a common framework for further discussion.

Saturday Afternoon – Sincere Presentations

(Summaries/Short Talks, Innovative, New Discoveries, Experimental, Research) 

The afternoon programme focuses on the presentation of Sincere contributions. Participants present their innovative ideas, experimental approaches, and research outlines in short, focused talks, followed by discussion and exchange with the audience.

Authenticity

in teaching is not a fixed state but a developing practice. It involves self-awareness, alignment between personal values and professional actions, and the courage to bring one’s whole self into the learning process.

Authentic educators foster trust, relevance, and deeper learning by connecting education to students’ real lives, interests, and experiences.

This conference invites educators, researchers, and practitioners to explore authenticity as a relational, ethical, and pedagogical approach that goes beyond traditional teaching methods. By facilitating inquiry, critical thinking, and student ownership of learning, authentic teaching creates meaningful and engaging educational experiences for both teachers and learners.

Conference support donation

The conference support donation is 30 EUR for participants.

Free registration is available only for members of the association.

The support donation includes access to the conference program and refreshments during both conference days.
